TomTom, the market leader in GPS devices, has released the new TomTom Start SatNav. Directed at the entry-level market, TomTom Start GPS simplifies user interactivity with an advanced user interface, while providing some of the top end features such as IQ Routes and TomTom Map Share, which are available in many high-end TomTom sat nav devices.
The perfect combination of form and function, TomTom Start can be used straight out of the box. With a new simplified menu, TomTom Start has only two simple buttons, 'Plan Routes' and 'Browse Maps', allowing users to start their journey by just tapping on the screen. The new menu system gives users fast, easy access to a pre-established security camera database, plus thousands of points of interest while providing a convenient navigation experience.
In addition to re-styling the user interface, TomTom Start GPS has undergone a design overhaul and is available in six great new colors. Users can also customize the look of the device to their liking by purchasing one of the many 'StartSkins' - convertible covers and matching carry bags - available from TomTom's website. The device can be further customized by downloading a variety of content, including start-up screens and voice, through the TomTom Home desktop software, allowing for a selection of unique configuration options.

Featuring one of TomTom's latest innovations - IQ Roots - TomTom Start is ideal for getting from A to B quickly and efficiently. IQ Routes is a new feature that harnesses the driving experiences of millions of TomTom users, and over 800 billion speed measurements to plan the fastest, most efficient route. Instead of the traditional static measurement of maximum speed per road type, based on historical travel time information for each road, IQ Routes technology provides a more accurate estimation of travel times, providing optimal routes, while keeping track of critical times. TomTom Start GPS is also one of the latest tools to feature TomTom Map Share – an innovative new community-based content sharing system that allows users to make their own instant map changes and interact with other TomTom users via the TomTom Home software. TomTom users can now take advantage of thousands of free map updates made daily by TomTom users via the TomTom Map Share online database. Combining utility, form and function in a GPS package small enough to fit in a pocket or small bag.
